Description |
Robinette. Looking south. Idaho Power electric substation in the foreground. The Robinette Depot is the dark building beside the railroad tracks. The long building is Carl Miller's Robinette Forwarding Co. Across the street from the depot is the Robinette Store and Post Office. The large building near the store is a tavern built to accommodate workers during the construction of Brownlee Dam in the late 1950's. Out of sight in the foreground is Tartar Gulch whose spring a quarter mile up the canyon wall supplied the town with drinking water. Beyond the town the road to Richland went above the rock point where the river narrowed, turned right and followed up the north side of Powder River. |
