Arlington Hotel, also known as Cosmopolitan Hotel, on the northeast corner of Main and Court. Stagecoach and delivery wagon out front. Tricycle at corner of building. The Kennedy Building replaced the hotel. Then the top floors were removed from the Kennedy Building leaving just a one-story structure, which over the years has been the site of several restaurants, including the Royal Cafe of photographer Jack Eng.

Kennedy Building deconstruction in 1969, which was on the NE corner of Main and Court streets, next door south of Royal Cafe. Co-owners Jack Eng and son Henry Wong, had the top two floors removed and moon stone attached to the front of the remaining first story, which expanded the Royal Cafe into an area called Shangrila Lounge. Annie Wong. Annie was born in northern Idaho in ca. 1925. She and her husband, Henry Wong, came to Baker City in about 1940 and, along with Jack Eng, ran the Royal Cafe for several decades.
